William Heise Park Information (619)694-3049, reservation (619)565-3600Take Pine Hills Road from Highway 78 east of Julian to Frisius Road, left on Frisius. Just keep going on this road Heise Park is down at the bottom of a valley. This is our nicest campground, relatively new.

Rainbow Hill, (760)765-2644. This wonderful place was design and built by our world famous artist architect James Hubbell. It is like a two story gnome house. There is stained glass everywhere, patterns in the flooring, a horse's head coming out of one outside wall. It does have room for couples or families.2 rooms, sleeps up to 7, private baths, continental breakfast, spa, fireplace, TV/VCR, children ok.20 people outside. 1643 Oak Land Rd.

Best Breakfast. Best fried chicken in Julian. Best Coffee. Very, very good quality food. They have gotten their manager and chef from Rancho Bernardo Inn. Concert quality player piano. If you see a young man playing the piano that's the restaurant's owner. Good location for a reception after a wedding.

Rooms and cabins have new furniture, no refrigerators, cabins (not rooms) have coffee makers. Weekday continental breakfast.It's charming stone fireplace makes a lovely background for informal weddings, receptions, and private parties.
